Pray for Snow

First of all, I’m getting transferred!

I am going to Cooperstown! When I told people I’m going to Cooperstown the only response they give me is that “Oh, that’s the baseball hall of fame!” That’s all I know about it… and there is a lake! I miss having a lake close by so that should be fun!

Second of all: THERE IS NO SNOW!! 🙁

Third of all, I am so excited for Christmas! Sister Hale and I bought presents for each other…we will have to open them early because I’m leave. I sent a picture last week of our “ghetto tree” Well lucky for us, Sister Hale found a nice small fake tree! Now our apartment looks better! 😉

We had a pretty good week! It was a pretty busy week by the end. One of our investigators finally committed to baptism this week!! I have been meeting with her since I got to Binghamton! So I am really glad that I was able to be her when she committed 🙂 Speaking of Baptisms, the Elders had a baptism this weekend! They are a really nice couple! We talked to her in  relief society a bit and we were really excited for her (And her boyfriend) to be baptized! They are both wonderful people and it was a great service! It’s really great to see people’s live change almost immediately! It just goes to show that this Church is true! I know it is with all my heart!

On Saturday night, we had our ward Christmas Party! It was a lot of fun! We had a yummy dinner with ham and turkey, green bean casserole (My favorite), mashed potatoes, and stuffing! they had a fun Christmas program, the primary kids sung songs and a few sister in the ward sung songs as well! It was a very nice Christmas party. We also took a unit picture with all of the Binghamton missionaries (8 of them! Crazy!)

Sister Drake came to our rescue on Friday! We had a dinner appointment scheduled, but it fell through, we were by the Drake’s house and we Sister Hale wanted to go and fill her water bottle up, and Sister Drake gave us dinner! We just had grilled chicken, but it reminded me  of home!

On Thursday pretty much like any other Thursday, we did our service and the church (that’s the last time for me 🙁 we saw our less active member. the investigator (and less active) that we usually see on Thursdays came to church on Sunday! (they wanted to hear my talk before I left)

We had District Meeting on Tuesday, it was good! Still not quite sure what the main focus was, but we learned about charity and Christ-like attributes, being bold…It was really just a good meeting and I felt the spirit a lot!

I gave a talk on Sunday! I was asked to talk about joy! When ever I think of joy, I think of Christmas! With all of the Christmas lights, Christmas trees! Especially Christmas music! I’ve been trying to listen to Christmas music since September! I can finally listen to it (Without my companion getting mad… 🙂 I also think about the reason why we have joy around Christmas time, and that is because Christ came to the earth. In Luke 2: 10 it says: “And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.” That “great joy” is Jesus Christ! Because He came to the earth, the performed a lot of amazing miracles, the biggest miracles was of course His Atonement. We can find joy in the Atonement of Jesus Christ! It is for all of us! not just some of us this joy shall be to all people!

I am so excited for my new area, I am also sad to say good bye to so many wonderful people! The Binghamton ward is the best ward out there 😉 I am also sad to say good bye to Sister Hale, but I know that we both have grand adventures awaiting us!

I love you all and I hope you have a fantastic week!

11 more days

See you next week!
