Do You Want A Book of Mormon?

(Sung to the tune of “Do You Want To Build a Snowman”)

Well on Monday we had game night…

We played Liar’s Dice and apparently I have a really good straight face… and also my companion is a good liar, so I better watch out! (She won)

On Tuesday…

We had a really good district meeting. Like, so good I was listening so intently that I didn’t even write anything down! We learned how we can become a missionary that is easy to read (Like a GPS). I realized that I need to be a missionary that you can read better, so people know why I am on a mission, I need to speak up more and I also realized that I need to pray with “real intent” and be willing to act on the answers I receive and be more specific about things when I pray. Remember how you told me I would learn to “really pray” on my mission? Well I’m starting to do that, and get out of the repetitious prayers. I have already seen great blessing come of it. I always love district meetings!

On Wednesday…

We did the usual, we went to the community lunch in Lake placid and helped serve people, and then later we went to Saranac Lake to teach an investigator. Well she wasn’t home. So we went to try and find another investigator, well she wasn’t home either. So were about to go our usual service at a soup kitchen in Saranac Lake. As we got in the car, we saw the Elders across the street, so we waved to them and they came over to our car. As we were talking we asked them if they were going to the soup kitchen, they looked at us confused and then told us that it was cancelled. We forgot all about that. I was so grateful that were able to reminded us that it was cancelled. We would have gone to the church and no one would have been there. Well we had a meeting later that night in Saranac Lake so we were stuck. Again the Elders helped us by sending us to people we could try. So I’m glad we could be productive.

On Thursday…

We tried to find people and we had weekly planning.

On Friday…

We tried to find people…

On Saturday…

We tried to find people…

And on Sunday…

We tried to find people (and we also went to church!)

So I’ll tell you about trying to find people!

We found a few people who are interested. One lady was very interested and we taught her about The Book of Mormon. She said she would call us back if she had any questions, hope she does. All the people that we tried were very friendly and nice and I am grateful for that. We were able to hand out a few Book of Mormons to people too.

On Sunday we had a regional broadcast.

It was broadcasted from Salt Lake to the east coast. Elder Larry Kacher, Sister Reeves, Elder Anderson and Elder Hales spoke. I really liked sister Reeves talk about being willing to repent and being forgiving. She had such a strong testimony and she yearned for everyone to become clean through the Atonement of Christ. I also liked Elder Anderson’s talk, it was about doing missionary work just by being an example to others and being willing to share your beliefs with others! Most people are converted because of the influence of friends.

We also had lunch with Sister Pascarelli. She is a convert and I love her testimony! She is still so excited about the gospel even after so many years of being a member. I love her enthusiasm! Well anyway, we had sandwiches at her house and berry pie… the pie was super delicious! #mealswithmembers are the best!

We also had dinner with the Evans. She made a yummy grape salad. And yummy chicken and she just makes good food. We also taught them about The Book of Mormon, and challenged them to become more like their favorite Book of Mormon Character.

By the way, the subject is because my companion and I use to sing “Do You Want a Book of Mormon?” Instead of “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” It was really fun!
